Co-Founder/ Director of Penn State University's Open the Box:
A special interest organization that aims to unite men and women to fight against gender related issues. We will start redefining gender roles and fighting for change in fall 2015. Our first campaign will lead an attempt to get Penn State to offer S.A.F.E. kits for rape detection here on campus. What started as a simple advocacy project has grown into a funded and recognized organization. We are excited to see what we will accomplish. To the left are some picture of our first introduction of our organization to the public. |
Research Assistant on Dr. Douglas Teti's project S.I.E.S.T.A. II:
SIESTA Study of Infants’ Emergent Sleep TrAjectories seeks to study parent and child contributions to infant (0-2 year) sleep patterns. I work on the bedtime coding team. I have been trained to analyze and code parent child interactions at bed time. I will be working in this lab for the remainder of my time here at Penn State and will eventually write my senior thesis based upon my work.
I have received the John T. and Paige S. Smith Endowment for Undergraduate for summer 2015. I am independently conducting a study to answer the question: "How does parent presence affect the quality of infant sleep?". This research will be very innovative in the field and will help determine what types of parental behaviors at bedtime help promote quality sleep in infants.
